Creating Numbering Schemes

You only need to create new numbering schemes if you want to add more numbering schemes for different types of records, such as different Criteria Types or Audit Types.

  1. From the SmartSolve Portal Page, click the Home tab.
  2. In the Setup and Policy section, click Setup.
  3. In the System Wide section, click Numbering Scheme.
    Result: All available numbering schemes are displayed in the Numbering Schemes window.
  4. Click Action > Add.
  5. Enter the scheme code and name of the new numbering scheme.
  6. Enter the start number for the next record using this numbering scheme.
  7. Enter the format by which the record will be standardized.

NOTE: Make sure to use the { } character when identifying your number format or you will receive system errors when attempting to save your record.

  1. Enter the Revision Style and Level Separator.
  2. Click the Save button.
    Result: The new numbering scheme is now displayed.
